Bali has various dance as basic culture of religion. Balinese dance such us : Kecak dance, Barong dance, Legong Keraton, Baris dance, and etc. Dance is the main form of Balinese art and culture takes place in the main temple festivals and ceremonies, especially for the cycle of life and death.
Teaching and kept secret in the villages, halls and palaces, the dances that tourists witness in hotels and specially designed stage, is only part of the dance scene, although most of the dancers from the village groups.
The Kecak Dance
Its name is derived from the sound “cak”, pronounced “shock” which is chanted in complex interlocking patterns that are as rhythmic patterns played on the gamelan. Kecak modern form dates from the village of Gianyar Bedulu in the 1930s as a result commissioned by the German artist Walter foreign spies.
He wanted to create results that can be used by a small coterie of expatriate artists like himself and friends and guests on the island. Modern performance of Kecak is a sensational sight to behold. The Barong Dance
“Lord of the forest and the magical protector of Balinese villages in Barong is a mythical, half shaggy dog, half-lion creature with a long mane, fantastic caught and protuberant eyes. It is operated by two men who maneuvers with a freakish costume and mischievous movements to express their fun-loved character.
The opponent is Barong Rangda, the wicked witch who rules over the spirits of darkness. The Barong dance epitomizes eternal struggle between good and evil. The fight of Barong and Rangda is the theme of traditional narratives performed in temples and takes different forms.

Legong Keraton
Top-graceful of Balinese dances, it is an expression of classical female Balinese dancing. A legong because dancing is known, often a young girl of eight or nine years, rarely older than her early teens. It was first established in the 18th century and is usually the first dance to learn for beginners.
There are many types of Legong, the dance is usually performed Legong Keraton or Legong of the Palace. The story of Legong is highly stylized and symbolic, and you must know the story before actually see the show. In three Legong dancers - two legongs and “comrade” of condong.

This dance is performed solo and requires a lot of energy, spirit and skills. Warrior changing moods is disclosed jaw movements and expressions, it should be able to depict chivalry, pride, anger, skill and a little sad. Baris says that it is one of the most complex of all Balinese dances.
